The Challenge
With live events halted by the pandemic, the NIMAs needed to reimagine their format to keep the celebration alive and continue honouring First Nations music.
Our Solution
In partnership with NITV, we transitioned the awards to a fully virtual production. The broadcast aired free-to-air and was amplified through Double J, the National Indigenous Radio Service, and multiple social platforms – creating a true multi-platform event.
The Impact
The 2020 NIMAs achieved record ratings and reached audiences across Australia and internationally. Despite the shift online, the program retained its cultural spirit and emotional resonance, setting a new benchmark for how the event could connect communities in challenging times.
